WSU Forest and Range Owners Field Day coming to Cle Elum

Woodland tour
WSU’s Forest and Range Owners Field Day, returning June 21, 2025, to Cle Elum, Washington, gives woodland forest owners the opportunity to meet with forestry experts and learn about best practices in the field. Above, participants in a past WSU Extension Forestry field day take a woodland tour.

CLE ELUM, Washington – Family forest owners and managers in eastern Washington can learn how to manage and protect their woodlands alongside Washington State University Extension Forestry experts at an upcoming in-field event.

At WSU Extension’s Forest and Range Owners Field Day, 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday, June 21, at the Leavitt Family property in Cle Elum, Washington, recognized experts in forest management, wildlife habitat, and other land stewardship disciplines offer timely, and unbiased information.

“Our field day rotates regularly around the region, so landowners in Chelan, Kittitas and Yakima counties should not miss this chance to better understand and protect their properties alongside professional foresters,” said Joshua Cardin, WSU Extension Forestry Program Coordinator for eastern Washington. “Whether your forest is only five acres, or 500, we’ve designed this program to meet your needs.”

Field day instructors teach landowners to plan and execute management activities that meet their personal objectives, reduce risks, and protect their financial investment. Absentee landowners with property in eastern Washington are especially encouraged to attend.
