Encounter the latest advances and knowledge in agroforestry, the practice of growing crops and pastureland in tandem with trees, at a Zoom workshop, Nov. 9-10.
WSU Extension Forestry scientists partner with experts from Oregon State University and the USDA National Agroforestry Center to present the Pacific Northwest Agroforestry Virtual Workshop.
Aimed at forestry assistance providers, Extension staff, and others who work with farmers, ranchers, and forest landowners, this event introduces new resources, management choices, adoption of better practices, and helps build a network of informed agroforestry professionals.
Participants will hear introductory presentations on a range of region-specific agroforestry topics, including silvopasture, forest farming, riparian buffers, windbreaks, climate change, and more. The program includes a virtual field tour and discussion about future agroforestry opportunities and training needs.
It will be held 1-4 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 9, and 8 a.m. to noon Wednesday, Nov. 10. Attendance is free.
