Anthony’s Restaurants to host spring release of WSU Blended Learning wines

Richland, Wash. – Anthony’s Restaurants will host the WSU Blended Learning Spring Release Party at Budd’s Broiler at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 29. The public is invited to attend.

Registration is $100 and is available here. The event includes a social reception where guests can visit with WSU viticulture and enology students and faculty, taste the latest wines released from the Blended Learning series, and enjoy a four-course dinner and wine pairing.

Blended Learning is a viticulture and enology class offered to students each semester.  This student winemaking project supports hands-on learning by pairing students with local growers and winemakers who collaborate on all aspects of the winemaking process.  Blended learning wines are sold through WSU Connections stores with proceeds supporting the VE program.

Newly released wines included:

2016 Sauvignon Blanc
Vineyard: Boushey Vineyards, Yakima Valley
Partner Winery: Wine Boss

2016 Dry Riesling
Vineyard: Bacchus Vineyard
Partner Winery: Washington State University

2014 Grenache

This is the third year in a row that Anthony’s has hosted a fundraising event from the VE program. To date, they have helped raise over $17,000! With their continued support, 100 percent of funds raised through the event will support the purchase of a pick-up truck to haul grapes and equipment for student learning and research projects.
