December 12 & 13: Wheat Academy offers hands-on learning

PULLMAN, Wash. – Growers and industry professionals from all over the Pacific Northwest are invited to the annual WSU Extension Wheat Academy Dec. 12 and 13 to learn about disease diagnostics, wheat management, soil health, wheat breeding, and much more.

The Wheat Academy will be held in the Vogel Plant Biosciences Building Teaching Laboratories on the WSU Pullman campus. Registration is $75 for growers and $125 for industry representatives. Registration is limited to the first 75 registrants. The fee covers parking on campus, two lunches, a catered social hour, and light refreshments throughout the two-day event.

During the Academy, participants will get to select ten presentations out of the twelve available. There will be six presentations each day. This year’s presentations are:

The Dryland Cropping Systems Team has applied for 4 Idaho, Oregon, and Washington Pesticide Recertification Credits.  We have been approved for 3 Nutrient Management, 6 Integrated Pest Management, and 10.5 Crop Management Continuing Education Units (CEUs) for Certified Crop Advisors.
