From Washington State University Extension, this is Food Safety in a Minute.

September is National Food Safety Month. Whether home schooling or an interested parent helping your children learn about food safety, there are science-based resources for kindergarteners to high school students available from the National Partnership of Food Safety Education.

They have coloring pages, children’s recipes, coloring placemats, crossword puzzles, games, word searches, activity sheets, and sign-up for the Scrub Club. Scrub Club is an interactive website about hand washing sponsored by NSF.

Fostering an interest in food safety with your children is an investment in their future health and well-being, helping them form positive habits for life. Whether it’s cooking, a farm stand visit, gardening, or a trip to the grocery store, there’s lots of opportunities to learn about food safety.
