From Washington State University Extension, I’m Susie Craig.

Do you have last minute questions about preparing your Thanksgiving turkey? You’re in luck. On Thanksgiving Day between 5:30 am and 11:30 am Pacific Standard Time, you can talk with an expert at the United States Department of Agricultures’ Meat and Poultry Hotline. Call them at 888-674-6854. Since 1985, they have answered more than 2 million questions. They are happy to answer yours in English and Spanish.

After phone hours, it’s easy to search online by entering Ask USDA. On Ask USDA website, use their search bar at the top of the page for your question. For instance, “Thaw a Turkey”, “Roast a Turkey”, “Number of Servings Per Pound”, or “Thanksgiving Leftovers”. There’s lots of research-based food safety information available 24/7.

I’m Susie Craig.
