Welcome to Food Safety in a Minute.

According to the United States Department of Agriculture, the price per pound of whole turkey has risen more than 70% since last year to $1.99 per pound. If you want to serve the perfect, succulent Thanksgiving turkey this year, start with a few basic methods, especially if you’re a new cook.

It’s easy to roast your turkey to perfection while ensuring food safety. Preheat your oven and roast at no lower than 325 °F. on a rack or in a shallow roasting pan. Place a food thermometer in the innermost part of the thigh and wing and the thickest part of the breast. Roast to 165 °F. Once cooked, wait for 20 minutes before carving. This allows the juices to set and easier carving.
