Episode Transcription

For Food Safety in a Minute, I’m Susie Craig.

Consumers have lots of research-based information available online. Our focus this week is CFSAN which stands for the Center for Food Safety and Applied Nutrition. Operated by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, CFSAN has an online education resource library. For the easiest search, choose food safety and under audience, choose
consumers/general public.

If you want to learn more from a food industry perspective or health care perspective, there’s opportunities to do that as well. Food safety information includes printed materials, videos, and podcasts, generally in English and Spanish. Here are some examples of titles: Reporting a Foodborne Illness, Tips for Grocery Shopping and Storage, Dangers of Unpasteurized Milk, and much more. Check Out the CFSAN Library this week.

This is Susie Craig from Washington State University Extension.
