From Washington State University Extension, this is Food Safety in a Minute.

Computers, smart phones, and digital information have changed our day-to-day living. What’s true in your home, is also true for food companies. The goal of Tech-Enabled Traceability in the Food and Drug Administration’s Blueprint for the Future of Food Safety protects our food system from contaminated food products. This means food companies plan to establish standardized, tech-enabled approaches to traceability of your food from the farm to your table. For instance, food companies have traceability up and down their system to include raw products from suppliers and traceability to your table. As tech-enabled traceability is enhanced, food recalls will be timely and more effective. Consumers will be able to receive product recall information from web and social media postings, email, text, and even product scans.

For Food Safety in a Minute, this is Susie Craig from Washington State University Extension.
