  • Purchase an Emergency Food Supply Kit. In the Northwest, we live with the possibility of earthquakes which could damage our infrastructure. There are many choices for emergency food supply kits online. Choose one that meet the needs of your family. Once unwrapped, store it an easily accessible place in your home.
  • Thermometers are another great gift. Choices range from a few dollars for an instant read dial thermometer to nearly a $100 for an infrared thermometer. Specialty thermometers such as wireless remote digital thermometers for grills and smokers are another good choice.
  • Color coded cutting boards are another inexpensive gift. Using them reduces the risk of cross contamination.
