Welcome to Food Safety in a Minute.
Are you looking forward to farmers markets this summer? The COVID-19 pandemic has delayed their start dates. Vendors and customers are being asked to do things differently to enhance public health and safety. There’s a new normal for farmers markets.
- Social distancing between vendors, between the farmer and you, and between customers.
- Markets have designated entrances and exits to control the flow of customers, minimizing person-to-person contact.
- The total number of customers will be limited during hours of operation.
- Drive though operations may be offered at many farmers markets with options for online orders.
- Vendors, market staff, and you may be asked to wear personal protective equipment.
Do your part. Carefully follow market guidelines and always avoid shopping if you are sick.
