Do you want to learn more about food coloring additives? Online, visit the International Food Information Council Foundation. Their mission is to “effectively communicate science-based information on health, nutrition, and food safety for the public good.”

Check out a new 2020 publication called Food Color Facts on their website. The article includes an overview of why food colors are used in food, which food colors are approved for use in the United States and assess research studies linked to safety. There’s also a link to the 2019 Symposium on Synthetic Food Dyes sponsored by California Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment which include video presentations.
