Soil Health is Topic of Carnation Farm Walk

PUYALLUP, Wash. – Learn about the best ways to promote soil health and learn innovative management practices at an upcoming farm walk near the community of Carnation. Farmers, gardeners and interested community members are invited to attend the hands-on tour.

The farm walk will be held on Monday, July 30, from noon until 3:30 p.m. at Full Circle Farm. The farm is located south of Carnation on N.E. 8th street off SR 203 (Preston-Fall City Road). Specific driving directions are available at www.fullcirclefarm.com.

Washington State University soil scientists Doug Collins, Andy Bary and Craig Cogger will discuss recent research done at Full Circle and other area farms directed at improving and monitoring soil health, including relay cover cropping.

The cost for the event is $10 for Tilth Producer members, and $15 for non-members.

Washington State University’s Small Farms Team and Tilth Producers of Washington are sponsoring the farm walk.
