Mohammadali Azadfar, a doctoral scholar in the Department of Biological Systems Engineering, is attending a prestigious national conference this fall, presenting his work on turning a compound in wood pulp waste into valuable products.

Azadfar shares findings on sustainable technologies to separate lignin, a useful polymer, from pulp waste, at the American Institute of Chemical Engineers annual meeting, Nov. 8-13 in Salt Lake City.

The title of his presentation is “Investigation of Nanostructural Characteristics of Lignin-ABA Block Copolymer Aggregates Leading to Use of Micelles as Nanoreactors for Lignin Conversion.”
