The Washington State University-USDA Precision Farming and Direct Seed field day at Cook Agronomy Farm is slated for Thursday, June 25. Registration begins at 7:30 a.m., with field tours scheduled from 8 a.m. to noon.
This year’s topics include eye spot and stripe rust, in-field disease monitoring with real-time PCR, resistant prickly lettuce, weed control in legumes, and precision ag findings at the Cook Agronomy Farm, as well as deploying precision ag technologies on the commercial farm.
Following the tours, a complimentary lunch program will be served. Guest speakers John Aeschliman, a Palouse area direct-seed grain grower, and David Huggins, USDA-ARS soil scientist, will discuss what has been learned in ten years of research at the Cook Agronomy Farm.
The Cook Agronomy Farm is located one mile north of Pullman on Highway 27. Turn east on Whelan Rd (by Ace Elliot Landscaping) and continue for 4.7 miles.
The event is free and open to the public.
