ROCHESTER, Wash. – A free, five evening pre-license pesticide applicator training taught in Spanish will be offered in the community of Rochester by Washington State University Extension in cooperation with the Washington State Department of Agriculture. Those who successfully pass an examination at the end of training will qualify for a private pesticide applicator license.
Classes will be held from 6 to 9 pm from Monday, April 27, through Friday, May 1, at Rochester High School, 19800 Carper Road in Rochester.
Participants who chose to take the licensing exam will be charged a $33.00 WSDA license application fee at the time of the testing. Those who elect not to take the exam will receive a Worker Protection Standard pesticide handler training verification card.
A Spanish language manual that covers information presented in the training can be ordered through the WSU Publications office (http://pubs.wsu.edu). The manual is not required for the class. The manual can be ordered by calling toll-free 1-800-723-1763 and requesting “Manual para Aplicadores Privados de Pesticidas” (Misc0126S). Cost of the manual is $16.50 plus tax and shipping.
