Helpful resources to prepare CAHNRS students for a successful school year

Monday, Aug. 18 marks the start of the 2025-2026 academic year at Washington State University.

From finding an internship to leadership opportunities, scholarships, and more, the College of Agricultural, Human, and Natural Resource Sciences (CAHNRS) is committed to helping its students flourish while achieving their academic and personal goals.

Below is a tailored list of resources to help CAHNRS students succeed in the months ahead:

  • CAHNRS Ambassador Program: CAHNRS student ambassadors serve as liaisons between WSU and the greater community, encourage students to pursue higher ed, welcome prospective students, and increase awareness of CAHNRS.
  • CAHNRS SOAR: Student Outreach and Retention (SOAR) is a mentorship program designed to foster meaningful connections between student mentees and faculty, staff, and grad student mentors.
  • CAHNRS Student Senate: The CAHNRS Student Senate works with clubs and organizations within the college. They support and promote club activities and develop leadership within departments.
  • CAHNRS Academic Advising: CAHNRS advisors are dedicated to supporting students by helping them make informed decisions about their academic paths, connecting them with campus resources, and offering personalized guidance in a variety of other areas.
  • CAHNRS Top Scholars: This program is an opportunity for the highest-achieving incoming students. Top Scholars engage with world-class faculty to build meaningful connections and gain hands-on experience through research, internships, and career-relevant opportunities.
  • CAHNRS Scholarships: CAHNRS offers roughly $1 million in student scholarships each year and is committed to ensuring students have financial stability through all four years of college.
  • WSU MANRRS: WSU’s Minorities in Agriculture, Natural Resources, and Related Sciences (MANRRS) chapter promotes academic and professional advancement, provides networking opportunities, and offers a chance to attend conferences.
  • Student Research Opportunities: CAHNRS provides a variety of awards to support mentored student research, scholarship, and creative activities for undergraduate and graduate students.
  • CAHNRS Ignite Program: Offered exclusively to qualified first-year CAHNRS students, this undergraduate research program offers participants a chance to earn up to $1,500.
