Demo of GrowServ Scheduled March 13

PULLMAN, Wash. – A free demonstration of the GrowServ electronic bulletin board for farmers is scheduled from 10 a.m. to noon, March 13, at the Spokane County Agricultural Center, 222 N. Havana, in Spokane.

The dial-up computer bulletin board, developed jointly by farmers and Washington State University Cooperative Extension, provides users with access to updated weather forecasts, market reports, forums where producers can discuss topics of mutual interest, a calendar of upcoming events, real time conferencing capability, reports on agricultural research, e-mail and the Internet.

“It’s really one-stop shopping for agricultural information,” said Paul Peterson, WSU Spokane County Cooperative Extension agent.

The service is provided on a subscription basis to offset maintenance costs. Contact Peterson at (509) 533-2048 for further information.
