Auction of Washington Wines supports wine science at WSU

The Auction of Washington Wine events (AWW) begin next Wednesday, August 15th. WSU’s Viticulture and Enology Program is one of the beneficiaries of this auction and we’d like to see some Cougar Spirit at these events! Below is a brief description and dates of the events.

August 15th – Picnic and Barrel Auction
Dr. Thomas Henick-Kling, Director of Viticulture and Enology and Professor of Enology, will be featuring a “blind wine tasting” comparing Washington and Oregon Pinot Noir wines for the patrons attending the event, along with the unveiling of the WSU student-made Reisling for tasting.

CAHNRS will be hosting a fun cork-chipping game right next to this tent where people can win a bottle of wine!
We have the opportunity to display and encourage participants to give to a “Fund A Scholarship” for V&E Students.

August 16th – Winemaker Dinners
These are dinners hosted around the Seattle area featuring a special chef and winemaker at each dinner.

August 17th – The Wine Gala
Join WSU representatives/volunteers to attend an extravagant wine auction and dinner. There will be Silent, Super Silent and Live Auction items available. WSU CAHNRS will be participating in all lots; including the CEO and Washington Women in Wine Collection tradition from past Celebrate WA Wine Auctions. Take a sneak peak at the site to get an idea of what exciting items one lucky bidder can take home from the live auction! WSU’s is the “Wine Down Under Australia Wine Tour”.
