Does your indoor kitchen move outdoors for summer? If so, there are food safety tools available to keep your outdoor kitchen safe and your family free from foodborne illness. With temperatures soaring in the summer, bacteria grows more rapidly. Here are essential tools which will keep your family and friends safe:

  • An assortment of grill utensils. This helps eliminate cross contamination between juices of raw meat and poultry with cooked foods.
  • Multiple cutting boards. One for raw meat and poultry and another for ready-to-eat food.
  • Meat and poultry thermometer. Check online with the USDA Meat and Poultry Hotline for safe endpoint cooking temperatures.
  • Shallow containers for leftovers, allowing for quick cooling
