This is Food Safety in a Minute from Washington State University Extension. Looking for food preservation resources? If you intend to preserve food, it’s important to keep food safety in mind. Whether it’s canning, freezing, drying, making jams and jellies, pickling, smoking, or fermenting, it’s vital you use research-based information and tested recipes to keep your family safe. In addition to food safety, recipes and recipe instructions yield high quality products that may be safely stored and used by your family.
Do a search for the National Center for Home Food Preservation, established by the United States Department of Agriculture. There are videos, fact sheets, publications, and recipes. You can even subscribe to their Newsflash and get the latest news and important updates on home food preservation directly in your inbox.
