WSU Oilseed Workshops begin January 26

The WSU Oilseed Cropping Systems (WOCS) team has set dates and locations for their annual Oilseed Workshops:
• Jan. 26 – Hartline, Historic Hartline School
• Jan. 31 – Ritzville, American Legion
• Feb. 2 – Clarkston, Quality Inn & Suites Conference Center

The workshops will run from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., followed by a social. Topics will be specific to each region, and will cover management and strategies involved in planning for canola and other oilseeds in a cereal rotation; planting the crop; the growing season; harvest; storage; and marketing.

Attendees will learn about in-season, hands-on diagnostics for pests, diseases, nutrients, and herbicide damage, fertilizer management for spring and winter oilseeds, drill calibration, combine settings, and more.

Representatives from the U.S. Canola Association will speak about forming a Pacific Northwest Canola Growers Association. Registration and agendas will be available Dec. 16 at www.css.wsu.edu/biofuels.
