President Floyd didn’t grow up on a farm so you might have expected him to overlook the agricultural mission of the state’s land grant school. Yet during his too brief eight year tenure he actually strengthened WSU’s connection to agriculture, especially the wheat industry. We at the Washington Grain Commission are shocked and saddened by his death.

None of us know when we will be called home. I’m sure Dr. Floyd would appreciate his death serving as a reminder for the rest of us to reach out and let those folks who are still alive know how much we appreciate and admire them.
