New Scholarship Supports V&E at WSU
Wine-By-Cougars has announced the development of the WBC Viticulture and Enology Scholarship fund.
“WSU’s viticulture and enology program is nationally recognized and provides the booming Washington wine industry with research innovations and talented graduates to recruit,” a Wine-By-Cougars representative said.
Wine-By-Cougars is a wine club that features “premium, hand-crafted wines produced by wineries with a Cougar connection,” according to club founder and alumna Cassie Rothstrom.

A Taste of WSU
We’ll be at Benaroya Hall in Seattle on Aug. 28. We hope you’ll join us to celebrate the contributions WSU makes everyday in communities across the Evergreen State.
Sample from the bounty of Washington-produced beverages and fine foods prepared by several of the Seattle area’s premier chefs.
A delicious meal may seem like magic, but often it is the result of close collaborations between scientists, farmers, chefs and consumers.
Enjoy great food while learning more about myriad ways that WSU Extension, the College of Agricultural, Human and Natural Resource Sciences, and local producers and purveyors work together to give you, the consumer, the freshest, most flavorful food available.

A Celebration of Washington Wines
The 2009 Celebration of Washington Wines will be held at Chateau Ste. Michelle, Jan. 29. This black-tie reception, dinner, and auction benefits the WSU viticulture and enology program with scholarships and world-class research. In turn, WSU’s viticulture and enology program supports the Washington wine industry by educating the next generation of leaders, innovative research, and issue-oriented outreach.
We’ll bring you ticket ordering information and more details in an upcoming issue of Voice of the Vine.
