WAVEx a great success
More than 110 wine industry members registered for the WAVEx (Washington Advancements in Viticulture and Enology) seminars held in Walla Walla and Woodinville in mid-July. The half-day WAVEx, sponsored by the Washington State Wine Commission and WSU, is a shortened version of the widely popular annual WAVE event held in the spring. Winemakers and growers learned about managing tannins from grape to barrel from WSU’s Markus Keller, Jim Harbertson and Tom Collins. WAVEx will serve as the traveling research road show and visit an outlying wine region each year.
