WSU Tree Planting Ceremony May 1

PULLMAN, Wash. — Members of Washington State University’s student horticulture club will plant a Bur Oak near the southeast corner of the new university arboretum on May 1.

WSU President V. Lane Rawlins and administrators of the College of Agriculture and Home Economics have been invited to participate.

As in years past, the tree will be dedicated to this spring’s graduating class. The tree planting continues a tradition begun in 1986, according to Larry Hiller, co-advisor of the club.

The ceremony is scheduled for 9:10 a.m. The site is located east of Hulbert Hall. The public is invited.
