WSU researcher awarded Honorary Professorship in Australia

WSU professor Hanu Pappu received an honorary appointment as professor in the Center for Horticultural Science, Queensland Alliance for Agriculture, and Food Innovation, at the University of Queensland (UQ) in Brisbane, Australia. The appointment, announced by the UQ provost, further cements ongoing collaborative research and will facilitate student and faculty exchanges and development of new research initiatives.

“I am honored to receive this recognition and I look forward to further building on the existing collaborations with my peers at UQ,” said Pappu, Samuel H. Smith Professor and Chuey Endowed Chair in WSU’s Department of Plant Pathology.

As the Honorary Professor, Pappu will continue collaborating on research projects with UQ faculty, serve on PhD student committees, deliver lectures and seminars, and host and mentor graduate students and post-doctoral fellows from UQ.

UQ consistently ranks among the top 50 universities in the world with undergraduate and graduate programs in a wide range of areas from agriculture to medicine.
