WSU Reappoints Ag & Home Economics Dean

PULLMAN, Wash. — Reappointment of James Zuiches, dean of the Washington State University College of Agriculture and Home Economics, was announced today by WSU interim Provost Ronald H. Hopkins.

Zuiches has been dean of the college since July 15, 1995, and a WSU administrator since 1986.

“We’re pleased Jim has agreed to continue,” Hopkins said. “He has provided solid leadership for the college.

In a message today (Friday) to college faculty and staff, Zuiches said the college’s goals will remain the same:

  • Deliver excellent undergraduate and graduate programs;
  • Deliver the highest quality Cooperative Extension educational programs and develop leadership and human development skills in constituents of all ages throughout the state;
  • Conduct the highest quality, productive, relevant, visible, and impactful research and scholarly programs.

“During this next year, the college will work to improve our curricula and increase our enrollment, add to our capacity to conduct our programs, and meet the expected legislative criteria for accountability,” Zuiches said.
