Webinar Debunks Environmentally Friendly Food Myths

PULLMAN, Wash.—Jude Capper, assistant professor of animal science at Washington State University, will conduct a free webinar titled “Environmentally Friendly Food Myths Debunked” at 10 a.m., Wednesday, May 5, at http://breeze.wsu.edu/r75006088/. It is part of WSU Extension’s webinar series, “Research that Works for You.”

According to Capper, consumers often think they are making responsible food choices, but they are actually supporting production practices that consume more natural resources, cause greater pollution and create a larger carbon footprint than the more conventional methods.

The webinar with teach consumers to base their decisions on sound science when making environmentally responsible food purchases.

“Research that Works for You” is a new webinar series developed by WSU Extension to bring the latest information developed by faculty from across the university to those who can use it, such as other faculty, students, agricultural producers, consumers and families.
