More than 20 CAHNRS scientists and educators earn tenure and promotion for 2022

CAHNRS logo 2022Exploring improved crops and forestry, new technologies, and healthy farms and communities, a diverse group of scientists and educators in the College of Agricultural, Human, and Natural Resource Sciences advance their careers in 2022 through tenure and promotion.

CAHNRS Interim Dean Richard T. Koenig personally notified each of the 21 faculty members of their promotion in early 2022, presenting them with their choice of a bottle of WSU student-made wine or Cougar cheese.

Professor

Nine were promoted to the rank of professor:

  • Manoj Karkee, Department of Biological Systems Engineering
  • Steve Norberg, WSU Extension Agriculture and Natural Resources Program Unit
  • Salvador Ortigueira, School of Economic Sciences
  • Patricia Pendry, Department of Human Development
  • Yoshie Sano, Department of Human Development
  • Carrie Wohleb, WSU Extension Agriculture and Natural Resources Program Unit

Tenure and Associate Professor

Six faculty were granted tenure and promoted to associate professor rank:

Associated Professor

  • Clark Neely, Department of Crop and Soil Sciences, was promoted to the rank of Associate Professor
