Washington State University Extension Foresters will host an upcoming field day for owners of privately held forest and range lands in southeastern Washington.
The Forest and Range Owners Field Day is Saturday, June 24, on the Dickinson property at Cougar Canyon near Dayton, Wash. Gates open at 8 a.m., and the program follows from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
This field day has not been held in southeast Washington for several years, so landowners should not miss this opportunity to learn to plan, manage and protect their forests.
Expert-led presentations include forest health and safety, wildlife habitat, grazing, soils, fire protection, timber and non-timber forest products, Native American uses of the land, and many more.
Absentee forest and rangeland owners with property east of the Cascades, in particular, will find this event highly beneficial.
An on-site barbecue lunch is $10 and benefits the Future Farmers of America. Youth activities are available throughout the day.
Registration is $20 per person, $30 for a family of two or more. Registration on the day of the event is $30 per person, $40 for a family of two or more.
