Kids Invited To Get Down and Dirty with Nature

EVERETT, Wash. — Kids of all ages are invited to join Washington State University’s Snohomish County Extension faculty and staff for the 4th annual Forest and Wildlife Fun Day. The outdoor field day will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on July 27 at McCollum Park, 600 128th Street S.E. in Everett. The event is free and food will be provided, but participants are asked to pre-register.

The Forest and Wildlife Fun Day gives kids — and their parents – the opportunity to explore the hidden world of nature right here in our back yard. Activities include excursions to explore the forest, searching for critters in old logs, geocaching, marine life-themed arts and crafts, and examinations of bugs, animal skulls, and other interesting parts of the natural world. Kids will also get to make origami cups to grow their own lettuce plants in.

Learning, having fun, and getting dirty are all encouraged at the Fun Day. For more information or to pre-register, please visit http://bit.ly/2011forestfun or contact WSU Extension at 425-357-6039.
