Horton Named to Interim Extension Post

PULLMAN, Wash. — Sally E. Horton has been appointed interim associate dean for Cooperative Extension in the Washington State University College of Agriculture and Home Economics.

Her appointment was announced yesterday (Jan. 29) by Dean James J. Zuiches. The appointment is from Jan. 29 through June 30, 1998, at which time the college expects to have a new associate dean.

Horton has served as associate director of WSU Cooperative Extension for six years. Zuiches said Horton “is knowledgeable and experienced in personnel, budgetary and programmatic areas of Cooperative Extension.”

She succeeds Harry Burcalow, who retired Jan. 29.

Cooperative Extension has 240 faculty, including specialists located on four campuses and five research and extension centers, and county extension faculty located in all of the state’s 39 counties.
