Family Forest Owners Field Day Sept. 16

PULLMAN, Wash. — Recognized experts in forestry and wildlife habitat will demonstrate skills and answer questions at the annual Forest Owners Field Day, scheduled 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday, September 16, at the Pilchuck Tree Farm near Arlington.

“Whether you own a home in the woods or many acres of forest land, this out-in-the-woods educational event is packed with practical ‘how to’ information that forest landowners need to know,” said Andy Perleberg, WSU Skagit County Extension.

A few topics that will be covered during the program include forest plant identification; wildlife habitat enhancement; Red alder management; pruning; managing and marketing timber; forest health; and small-scale forestry equipment.

Registration is $20 per person or $30 for two or more for people who register before September 16. Registration at the door is $25 per person or $35 for two or more. A $7 per person barbecue lunch will be offered but tickets must be reserved by September 9.
