Corn Field Days Scheduled Aug. 14-16 in Columbia Basin

PULLMAN, Wash. — Corn silage and grain hybrid field trials will be featured at Washington State University Columbia Basin Field Trials scheduled August 14-16.

The events, which start at 8 a.m., are scheduled at the Callahan Farms near Royal City on Aug. 14, at the Halvorson Farms near Toppenish on August 15 and at the Airport Ranch near Sunnyside on August 16.

Corn company representatives involved in the trials will discuss their current hybrids, performance of recent hybrids and hybrid qualities. WSU faculty will discuss soil fertility management; irrigation scheduling and management; and agronomic management of growing corn in the Columbia Basin.
