Beginning Oct. 13, 2020, Extension forestry experts host their award-winning Coached Planning Shortcourse for eastern Washington landowners, as a series of live, interactive webinars.

Coached Planning teaches forest owners to know when their forest is healthy; how to protect land from wildfire and enhance wildlife habitat; how to harvest timber fairly and sustainably; and many other valuable skills and topics. The course runs through Dec. 15, 2020.

Participants may become eligible for cost-share assistance to implement practices such as thinning, pruning, slash disposal, reforestation, and wildlife habitat improvement; be considered for reduced property taxes; and become a certified forest owner.

The course fee is $60 per person, family, or land parcel. Participation is limited to 40 registrants on a first-come, first-served basis upon receipt of the registration and fee. Classes will be held weekly on Tuesday evenings from 6 to 9 p.m. online. The course is taught by the state’s recognized experts from WSU, the Washington Department of Natural Resources, and other natural resource agencies.
