Enology certificate students attend first camp at WSU Wine Science Center

Thirty-two students in the Washington State University enology certificate program met their peers and professors face-to-face for the first time during a weekend of winemaking lab activities and lectures held at the Ste. Michelle Wine Estates WSU Wine Science Center September 12-13, 2015.

Tannins from vine to wine | Good Fruit Grower

Reporter Melissa Hansen talked tannins with WSU experts Markus Keller (viticulture) and Jim Harbertson (enology). Tannins, which are an essential component of fine wines, require a team effort by grower and winemaker, but are ultimately managed in the winery.

Chateau Ste. Michelle partners with local restaurants to support future Pacific Northwest grape growers and winemakers

Washington’s founding winery Chateau Ste. Michelle is partnering with Washington restaurants to support the eighth-annual Raise a Glass, Fund a Scholarship program to benefit viticulture and enology programs at Washington State University and other Northwest universities. More than 300 restaurants will participate in the program that runs now through the end of December 2015.
