WSU Extension brings forestry experts together at annual workshop, Spokane Foresters Roundtable

Northeast Washington and northern Idaho foresters can share ideas, learn best practices and network with experts and professionals at two upcoming Washington State University Extension Forestry events near Spokane, Wash.

The first event, a Family Foresters Roundtable, is 1 to 5 p.m. Thursday, Jan, 17, at the Enduris Training Facility, 1610 S. Technology Blvd.

Aimed at Washington and Idaho private and public foresters and members of forestry associations, this free forum offers emerging information, networking opportunities, and program updates from WSU and University of Idaho Extension, the Washington Department of Natural Resources, the Idaho Department of State Lands, the National Resources Conservation Service, Washington and Idaho Tree Farm Programs, and other partners.

Annual Forestry Workshop

The second event, the 27th Annual Family Foresters Workshop, is 8:30 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. Friday, Jan. 18, at the Mirabeau Park Hotel and Convention Center, 1100 N. Sullivan Road in Spokane Valley, Wash.

This forum strengthens the skills of foresters and natural resource professionals who work with family forest owners through workshops on economics, new technologies, wildfire management, drones, cross-laminated timber, recreational leases, and more.

Co-sponsors include WSU and UI Extension, the Association of Consulting Foresters, the Idaho Department of Lands, Washington DNR, Idaho Forest Owners Association, and the Washington Farm Forestry Association. Cost is $85 for early registration, $95 after Jan. 11 or at the door, and includes lunch and refreshments, with a $5 fee for online registration.
