Washington State University’s exciting new apple variety, Cosmic Crisp®, is helping bring the Missoula Children’s Theatre production of “Johnny Appleseed” to audiences across America.
The nation’s largest touring children’s theatre, the Missoula Children’s Theatre (MCT) launched a new live, family-oriented show this year, sharing the story of American pioneer nurseryman John Chapman, better known as Johnny Appleseed.
Cosmic Crisp® is a co-sponsor of the company’s 2019-2020 tour, which includes “Johnny Appleseed,” as well as “The Snow Queen,” “Peter and Wendy,” “Gulliver’s Travels,” and other shows.
The Missoula Children’s Theatre mission is the development of life skills in children through participation in the performing arts. At every location, MCT touring artists cast local youth in one of their children’s musicals; the young actors perform for an audience after just one week of rehearsals.
Helping serve MCT’s goal of providing children and communities with hands-on learning experiences, select audiences will be treated to exclusive tastes of Cosmic Crisp®. At Pullman, sliced apples will be available at the Friday evening show.
At Pullman, two “Johnny Appleseed” shows will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, October 11, and 11 a.m. Saturday, October 12, at the Beasley Coliseum Theatre on the WSU campus.
The tour runs through May 2020 at venues across the United States, including schools in California, Iowa, Montana, Oregon, North Dakota, South Dakota, Wyoming, and Washington state.
Upcoming performances are planned in Gig Harbor, Wash., Jackson Junction, Iowa, Marshall, Minn., and Eureka, Mont.
Tickets are $6 ($4 for 12 and under), and are available at the Beasley Coliseum box office and all TicketsWest outlets: www.ticketswest.com
